I used to think that fingerprints were only useful for unlocking phones or for identification purposes. It turns out that fingerprints start to form when we are still in the womb and the patterns that are formed are almost never the same from one person to another.
What makes it even more interesting is that even identical twins do not have the same fingerprints. Even though they have very similar DNA, the development process in the womb is influenced by many small factors that make each person's fingerprint pattern unique.
If you look closely, fingerprints actually consist of various patterns such as curves, circles and circular lines. This combination of patterns makes the possibility of two people having exactly the same fingerprints very small.
Because of their unique and relatively permanent properties throughout life, fingerprints are used in many fields. Starting from security systems, identifying a person, to assisting with forensic investigations. Even small scratches or wounds usually only change temporarily, while the basic pattern remains as it was if the deeper layers of the skin are not damaged.
In my opinion, this is proof of how extraordinary the human body is. Parts as small as the tip of a finger actually hold a very distinctive identity and are difficult to imitate. Something that we often consider ordinary turns out to have a very important function in everyday life.
If I may conclude, fingerprints are not just patterns on the tips of the fingers, but are natural characteristics that every human being has. Its uniqueness makes fingerprints one of the most reliable identification methods used today. The more we know about the human body, the more interesting facts there are that show that every part of the body has extraordinary functions that we have rarely realized.
