Moving careers to a completely new field can feel scary because it feels like we have to start over from scratch. But actually not all old experiences need to be thrown away. Many skills can be carried over to a new field, such as communication, project management, analysis, customer service, sales, leadership, or the ability to work with a team. The first step in my opinion is to realistically understand the field you want to go into. Don't just choose because it's popular or you see other people earning big. Find out the day-to-day work, skills required, entry routes, and level of competition.
After that, determine some of the main skills that are still lacking and start learning directedly. Online courses, books, communities, personal projects, or certifications can be used as needed. The most important thing is to create proof that we are capable of doing the job. If you want to move into design, for example, create a portfolio. If you want to enter data, do an analysis project. Don't just write "currently studying" on your CV without showing the results. When applying, explain the relationship between previous experience and the new field and why the decision makes sense. A career switch may take time and some resistance, but if you do it with a plan, you're not really starting from zero. We just take old experiences in a different direction.
