In reality, the Sun emits light that appears white when viewed from space. As that light passes through Earth's atmosphere, shorter wavelengths scatter more easily, making the Sun look yellow during the day and orange or red near sunrise and sunset.
That's why photos taken by spacecraft often show a white Sun, while our view from the ground can look completely different. The change happens in the atmosphere—not in the Sun itself.
