On Thursday, July 30, 2026, Indonesia held a large-scale housing financing event covering 62,000 subsidized homes across the country. The main ceremony took place in Batang, Central Java, and was attended by President Prabowo Subianto as part of the government's broader 3 Million Homes program for lower-income families.
The event was carried out across multiple locations with support from banks and BP Tapera partners. The beneficiaries came from a wide range of backgrounds, including online motorcycle drivers, teachers, nurses, domestic workers, religious leaders, military and police personnel, and small traders.
The same event also included Rp880 billion in housing-related People's Business Credit, or KUR Perumahan. A total of 7,100 debtors were included, with 6,873 classified on the demand side and 227 on the supply side, covering people seeking housing-related financing as well as businesses supporting the housing sector.
The bigger challenge now is making sure these numbers translate into real housing access for families who need it. Large-scale signing ceremonies can mark an important step, but the long-term impact will depend on whether beneficiaries can actually receive affordable homes and maintain access to sustainable financing.See More
